Sexuality Happens

And it gets better…

Totally not sex related. But driving me nuts.

In addition to the attempted breaks ins. In addition to the broken window last fall. In addition to the mice. In addition to the termites. In addition to my fucked up stove and kitchen light that goes out ever week so has been out for months.

It turns out that MY key fits the locks of 4 other units in the building (out of 12). Which means that THEIR keys fit my lock. And while mine only fits the deadbolts of a couple, I HAVE NO KEY for my deadbolt, which means I’m ok when I’m home, but when I leave, I can’t lock it, so ANYONE from the building can apparently get into my apartment.

On a side note, I had to exterminator back today, and he sprayed the shit out of my bathroom, and closed the door. I can’t use it for 3 hours…and turned on all my fans and opened all my windows to dissipate the stuff that got out. I tried to get the cats in carriers and upstairs to my neighbor, but while I got Kinsey in, I couldn’t get Athena in, even with wet food! So they’re ok (the exterminator told me he had done the same at his house with his pets), but I just can’t pee, and had to move everything (curtain, rugs, tooth brushes, hair brushes, make up,curling irons, etc) out so that they aren’t contaminated. And tomorrow I have to mop it. And my landlord is *supposed* to be changing my locks. They have one week to fix the termite issue, and then I’m reporting them to whoever will listen. This is ludicrous and now it’s not just a “this sucks” issue. I mean, I haven’t been able to use my bathroom sink in a week. My safety is at stake. My cats are eating bugs, and now all three of us are breathing fumes…AGAIN. And my landlord’s response? We don’t want you to leave, but it really is your choice. WTF? Where am I going to find a place to live for 3 months?

UGH.

You may want to consider posting your landlord problems on phillyblog. It’s free, it may not help but revenge is sweet. A tenant in center city posted within the last month or so.
