SPANKED!
I <3 spanking. We know this. Sometimes a more full, inclusive, ass reddening spanking. Sometimes, a lighter, more gentle, playful spanking. But I like spanking. Before, during and after. More importantly, I like reading about spanking.
Rachel Kramer Bussel has edited a new erotica anthology: Spanked: Red Cheeked Erotica, and I was lucky enough to get a copy to read and review for her kinky virtual book tour.

My two favorite stories, are, without a doubt, Perfect Bound, by Shanna Germain, and Reunion, by Madlyn March.
You’d be surprised to know that Perfect Bound is not a queer story. In fact, it’s a woman spanking a man story…which is pretty much the antithesis of what I like in MY spankings (woman on me, FTM on me, etc). However, it was so well written, so delicious, so visual; I LOVED it. Plus, the description of the spanker; a hot, sassy bookstore owner (cum librarian? With a pencil skirt and glasses?!?!)…well, that could be me. I inserted myself into the story as the main character, and found myself getting incredibly hot and bothered as she reddened the ass of the new, young boy bent across her lap.
Reunion was a nice surprise. A lot of kink erotica anthologies are primarily hetero-based, and to find such a sexy and intensely erotic (and actually just plain intense) *queer* story in a spanking book really struck me for a curve. I also like how Madlyn acknowledged how hot the spanker can get really turned on providing the actual spanking.
Here’s an excerpt from it, to give you a little taste:
“All right,” I said, a few minutes later. “I think you’re ready for what I have to give you next.” She dutifully unzipped her pants. “Lie back on the ground,” I said as I rummaged though my bag, wondering what I could use to restrain her and to hit her. Ah. Perfect.
“Ass up,” I said, as I pulled her hands back with my ponytail holder.
I hesitated for a second. Was this right? Would I hurt her too much? It seemed strange to care, considering what she had done to me. But she seemed like such a nice person now, and I didn’t want to do anything that would be too—
“I bet you still hate me for taking Lena from you, huh?” she asked.
Suddenly, I stopped caring about whether what I was doing was right or not. She obviously wanted me to be rough. There was no other reason why she’d bring Lena up after all this time. She was trying to make me as mad as possible so I’d hit her hard. God, she must be dying for a good spanking. Well, she would just have to wait. Wait and suffer.
“No, I don’t hate you for taking Lena,” I lied, gently massaging her bare ass with the back of my metal hairbrush. “But I bet you wish I did. I bet you’d like to feel the sting of this. She was breathing loudly. So was I. We were frozen like that for two whole minutes, both terrified and excited by what was to follow.
Then I made good on my promise. Hard.

Lots of the stories are great, and they are all creative. People get spanked with everything from hands to books, kitchen implements to more traditional spanking toys. Women spankers, men spankers, spankees of different genders. There is definitely something for everyone.
And in case you’re wondering? My favorite thing to be hit with is this Round O Spank-Her Paddle. It’s simple, it’s cheap (under $25), it has two sides (smooth leather and suede) for variety, and it’s awesome!
