It's not that it makes it go more quickly, rather, it just provides access to the uterus and the cervix that is not normally there, increasing the risk of STIs moving into those areas. It took me 4 different doctors (is south Alabama) to get an IUD finally. Of course, I'm 24, nulliparous, and have multiple partners... so I get their issue. But it was still irritating to be told by 2 of them that "they didn't have statistics about the possibilities of infertility, but I didn't want to be be that percentage". Um, no.... but I *do* want to make an informed decision about my own body! Holy hell, I’m moving to Colorado! It took me 4 different doctors (is south Alabama) to get an IUD finally. I am sort of prone to dryness anyways, and most forms of hormonal birth control increased the problem, but of all the many types I tried (um Yasmin, about 4-5 generic pill forms, the patch, Nuva Ring), Nuva Ring was the worst. My sister, who has never experienced dryness before complains of the same issue. I hope that this is not the case for you!!! I am mostly just surprised they recommended that to you because it's something everyone who's had it that I know has complained about (except my friend heather who seems to have Niagra falls happening in her v-zone).
