I saw this book when it was still relatively new (and there were still lots of chatrooms, and the internet was still strange and exotic ... dating myself much? lol), and oddly, the one thing that really bothered me about it was the illustrations. Something about the almost childish style they're drawn in just irked me.

I read (and subsequently bought) SM101 around the same time, and found it immensely more informative, useful, and non-irksome (and at the time, bound like a university class supplement: photocopied & comb-bound ... very witty. hehe).

I really love that book. It's so specificly topiced and I'm glad I read it before getting my toes (and other parts) wet in the scene. I have to agree on the format, though. Happily, their more recent books have a better format.
