It's refreshing to see someone blogging about privilege, especially on a blog that isn't specifically about privilege and oppression. I think one of the many reasons people don't talk about their privilege, even when they're aware of it, is because we rarely see examples of people acknowledging their privilege. I'd love to read your writing on your privilege and how that affects your daily life and your relationships. Wouldn't that be a wonderful way to open people up to talking about it? And they use "white canes" or "long white canes" :-) Any chance of having the landlord install something in the stairwell?
