This is part of my 30 Days of Letters blog endeavor. Today’s schtick is to write to a stranger, and so I shall.
Today I’m writing to a stranger. But I’m going to take a similar route of the witty Britni of BritIsShameless.com, and make this a delurking post, or better yet, a post where I can get to know you, my readers.

*What is your number one bit of sex advice you give to people? I don’t really give sex advice – I pass as pretty straight, conservative, vanilla in my ‘real life’.
*How do you tell people you love them? Besides the obvious I love you? I feed them. I pay attention to things they say they like or enjoy and then riff on those themes for gifts.

*What is your number one bit of sex advice you give to people? Take some time to figure out what you want and then figure out how to talk about it. Then let others do the same without judging them. It’s all about self knowledge, love of self and others, and communication.
*How do you tell people you love them? Usually I just say it. I’m also big on physical touch and quality time. A big thing for me is spending hours talking about anything and everything with someone I’m close to. For me, opening up is an important expression of love.

I am 37 and recently came to the realization I am lesbian. I was raised believing that lesbianism was wrong and tried desperately to deny my true identity. Over the last few years I have began to discover the freedom that comes from accepting who I am, and have been searching out people on the internet to remind me I am not alone. I like your blog because I am learning so much about people and sexuality. I find your little corner of the internet educational, witty, informative and I enjoy reading about your experiences. I am also disabled and siffer chronic pain, so I feel I can relate to a lot what you have to say.

Accept yourself for who you are and never deny yourself the opportunity to explore what could possibly make you happy or turns you on.

This question was difficult to think about. I have no problem telling my partner how much I love her. I tell her often, whether spoken, written, or by my actions. My family is a different story. We have never been the kind of people to openly expose our love for each other. It seemed at a early age I was told often I was loved, but when my siblings and I reached a certain age, being told we were loved or physical expressions of love such as a hug, stopped suddenly. I love my family dearly and have good relationships with them all but we never say we love each other. We do love each other and I know if I was in need of anything, they would be there for me. Weird, huh?

I am a dog person. I recently lost my pug/chihuahua mix after 12 years of companionship. It was the most heartbreaking loss I have experienced. I plan on getting another dog as soon as I finish school.

It’s not just sex, it’s the pleasure and the experience that you have with someone. It’s learning each other’s bodies and reaction. Learning everything you can do to each other. Why read this blog: because I think you are a good writer with interesting things to say. I don’t always agree with your opinions or necessarily understand where you’re coming from, but so many blogs are just plain BAD that yours is refreshingly unique and honest.

How to tell people I love them: I lavish them with my attention and when I can, very expensive vacations. Sometimes small gifts and notes to let them know I’m thinking about them. Anything to make people smile.
#1 sex advice: leave your inhibitions at the door. Go to therapy and do whatever you have to do to open up to your partner. The trust and communication has to be there, but if you have walls up, it won’t work.
Favorite Animal: the duck. They get a bad wrap, but I think ducklings are the cutest animals on earth and ducks can fly south for the winter. They’re cool. Underrated, but cool.
