Sex Toy Review: Chippendales Diva

Chippendales Diva Vibrator

This is a newer vibrator on the American market — the Chippendales Diva vibrator, availabe in either Black or White. Obviously, I went with black, as I love it when toy companies take heed of my words, and make sexy black toys, or red toys. Plus white gets too visbility dirty.

I loved the packaging. I personally like having both a satin bag AND a nice, good quality box option for storage purposes. Q does not feel the same way, and finds the box to be really annoy and taking up to much room. Each to their own I suppose.

It came with the box, the bag, the toy, and a little booklet. Simple, elegant, I actually really liked the design of the toy. However, once I saw that this took AAA batteries, I knew it was not for me. I personally like weapons grade sex toys, like the Hitachi Magic Wand. Luckily for me, and for you, gentle readers, Q likes less intense vibrators, and was quite willing, once we were finally able to find a AAA pack of batteries (we tend to use either rechargable or toys taking AA batteries), to try it out of the good of the blog, and report back to you her thoughts on the vibrator.

So now, without further ado, I present my guest interview of the Chippendales Diva Vibrator from my partner Q.

Thoughts over all: It was ok. I didn’t like the box it came in, because I think it’s too bulky. However, I know you like it. The toy itself looks nice and sleek, and when I started using it, I thought it was going to be awesome. The problem was that neither the vibration level or the frequency were what I needed.

Would you use it again?  No. I used it for a bit, but couldn’t get off with it, and found it frustrating. Wound up having to finish up with the Onye, my good ol’ back up hitter. I wanted to like it, since it looked sleek and inviting, but honestly, I can’t say that it really worked for me.

What would you suggest they try to improve it? More power. Different vibrational frequency. Less on the packaging and more on the toy itself.

All in all, it seems like the Diva offers lovely packaging and a beautiful design, but doesn’t quite have the power needed to back up the rest of the stunning toy. I’m hoping they’ll refine it, and come back with another version, as I really do love the sleek and sexy black design.

Video Review: G-Ki

Hey all. Here is a fancy schmancy, middle of the week review of a sex toy; the Je Joue G-Ki. As with all my video reviews, thanks to Matt (the video rockstar) and to Fascinations.

So, as you’ve gather, behold before you a review of the Je Joue G-Ki. What is it? It’s the fairly new and very cool G-spot vibrator/dildo. Get this; it actually has two awesome joints that bend and flex, making it simpler for you to make this toy fit your body, and your G-spot, the way that works for you. Another bonus? This is a reachargeable toy, which gets mucho points from my side of the court. This is not just because I love the earth, but also I hate having to deal with batteries, etc.

Interested at all? Look at the video review to get a better idea about the and watch how it works, as well as hear my thoughts the G-Ki, and other G-spot superheros, like the Lelo Gigi. I do like this toy, although I think I’d recommend the Gigi first, as that’s my all time favorite G-spot rockstar.

Again, I give my thanks to Fascinations! Enjoy the video and the review, and please especially enjouy all the fun and awkward noises I make to describe the vibrations patterns… Click here to get your very own G-Ki!

Video Review: The Ice Vice

What do we have here? Its a vibrator that is a little different than what you’d expect. It’s a vibrator that is a little off the beaten path. No, it’s not Jaws vibrator, and an Abominable Snowman vibe. It’s just not quite your run of the mill vibrator.

What makes this vibe so incredibly different? Well how about that it is made of ice. Yep, you heard me, MADE OF ICE. Is that not cool or crazy or ridiculous or awesome or all the the aforementioned? What toy is this that I’m talking about? Why, its the Ice Vibe by Touche. The body of the toy is 100% medical grade silicone, the freezing cup is plastic, it comes with a little traditional bullet vibrator, and of  course, the actual part that winds up vibrating  is made of ice. I think this is the perfect toy to use in the summer to cool down when your love life is getting a bit heated up. I put more thoughts into the video about the ice vibe. Check out my video review.

As usual, a big thank you to Fascinations for the toy in exchange for a review, as well as video guy Matt who made the awesome video. The video is a bit old, but is never seen before, and now that it’s summer, what better time to share the Ice Vibe with you, right?

Sex Toy Review: BSoft Rechargable Vibrator

Bsoft Rechargable vibrator at SexToy.com

I love vibrators. I love rechargable vibrators. Ergo, when I was given the offer from a certain sex toy store to review the Bsoft Rechargable Vibrator (in return for a review), I most definitely took them up on their offer.

Looks wise, it’s a pretty nice, aero-dynamic, streamlined toy. This is good. It’s also very light weight. Now, some people prefer their toys to be light weight, but I actually find it to be a bit unerving, and often times the sign of a not-so-good toy. I went in a bit of a sceptic, as all sex toy reviewers should (unless you’re buying an Njoy or a Lelo – no skeptism needed).

It’s an ok toy. Not bad, by any means. It’s made of a hard plastic, so it’s phthalate free/body friendly, and can be washed with antibacterial soap and warm water. However, note that it is not, in fact, sterilizable, and so should be a one vulva/one person toy. Because it’s plastic and not silicone, you can use either water based lube or silicone based lube with it, depending on your personal preference.

Charging was fairly easy, and I really do appreciate that they didn’t go totally overboard with the packaging. The box is small, just like the toy.

The problem was the toy itself. Well, I shouldn’t say problem. It’s a decent toy, especially for its price range. It’s hard to find a decent rechargable toy that is body friendly for under $70, and this one certainly is all of that. However, there just wasn’t much power or oomp behind it, and that’s a pretty important part of vibrators for me is something that can really provide power when needed, and be a lower level for Q as needed.

So as a beginner toy, yes, or one for someone that likes light stimulation, this is good. For anyone who has experience with vibes, it might come off a bit iffy or weak, and I’d suggest something with a little more power to it.

Sex Toy Review: Jimmy Jane Form 2

As you may remember, I have very good things to say about the Jimmy Jane Form 6 (review), and I had high hopes for the Jimmy Jane Form 2. I mean, I loved the Jimmy Jane Massage Stone (review), as well as their absolutely amazing Jimmy Jane Afterglow Massage Candles (review).

We got this in pink, because that is what we were given (thanks for the toy Jimmy Jane!).  However, it also comes in a sexy slate black, as pictured above. Obviously, Q and I prefer the back, but a toy is a toy.

I was a little nervous going in, having read Epiphora’s post on the Form 2 Fail, and having heard many stories from various people about how their Form 2s seemed to eventually get a mind of their own.  I was determined to give it a good chance, as I love the Jimmy Jane brand.  We plugged it in, it charged well, and we took with with us to the hotel.

In the hotel, it was amazing. Q loved it.  It had a different type of vibration them I’m used to. Is it powerful? Oh yes, very much so.  But because of the shape, it more hugs the sides of the clit then doing a direct simulation of it (which I tend to prefer, as I am very much a Hitachi Girl). Q preferred that, because the Hitachi is often a bit too much for her (which is sad, because I love the Hitachi). We tried to replicate the issues that Epiphora had, but weren’t able to do so, making me think that maybe hers had been a fluke.

And then, Q used it while I was gone at AASECT. And when I came back, she told me the sad truth; it had started changing vibration randomly on her. Depending on the angle and the pressure, the vibration and type would suddenly change, and then go back, and then change again, and that is was incredibly frustrating. I’ve talked to other Form 2 owners, and have heard similar things from them, as well as from one woman who told me hers sometimes makes a screaming like noise as it changes vibration levels.

And if that wasn’t sad enough, we’re having a hell of a time recharging it. The cord doesn’t stay in the charge pad, and then when we force it in and are able to get it to stay, it’s so touchy to get it to charge. It has to stay exactly right on the pad to charge, otherwise, no light, no go.

It says it can be submerged, but we haven’t even gotten there yet, due to the issues. It IS, fabulously enough, made of 100% medical grade silicone (so body friendly and phthalate free), and can be sterilized with 10% bleach solution.

I love Jimmy Jane, but I think the Form 2 might need a little more refining before it’s as awesome as the Form 6.  Make your own choices, but I feel the Form 6 is a much better option right now.

Sex Toy Review: The Lelo Elise

I love Lelo. Hands down, they are one of my top three favorite sex toy companies. Why? They make mostly vibrators (although they also have a vibrating cock ring, kegel balls, and a butt plug, plus the Ella dildo), and all of their vibrating toys are rechargeable. Yes, they are 100% rechargeable, so you don’t have to worry about batteries ever again. Plus, all of the different chargers fit into all of the toys, so you only need to have one around. Also, Lelo chooses to make only body friendly toys out of phthalate free hard plastic and 100% medical grade silicone.

One of the only sex toys from Lelo I hadn’t yet tried was the Elise vibrator. I wanted it; it was black, big, and beautiful. It matched my sex toy collection, and I craved it. It was one that I didn’t have.

And now I have it.  It’s made of silicone, so it can be sterilized.  Since it has electrical parts, just wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution. Otherwise, washing it with water and anti-bacterial soap should do you fine.

To be honest, I was a little disappointed.  It was a great shape, great length, but the handle made it almost impossible to use. Q and I both liked the shape, but regardless of whether we were using it on ourselves or on each other, the handle was so small, hard to grip, and once we got lube involved? Yeah. There was no way to hold onto something like that.

Like all the other Lelo vibes, it has a great set of functions, from different levels and different types of stimulation. While we always enjoy trying all of these out (the on-off one, and the roller coster settings are pretty fun), we always end up back at the more traditional constant stimulation to really get the job done. Again, the shape is great, but it’s just so difficult ot actually use because of the handle size/angle, etc.

All in all, a good vibe. I’d give it 3.5 stars (more if you can figure out how to work the handle).  But if you’re going to invest in a Lelo toy, there are a whole bunch of better ones that I’d suggest, such as the Lelo Iris.

Click here to get your own Elise, but I think you’d be better with a Gigi or a Iris.

Sex Toy Video Review: The Layaspot

This is another rocking video review from Fascinations by my awesome co-worker Matt.  Also, danke to Fun Factory for the Layaspot for trial and actual review.

I like this vibe because it’s small, easy to get a good handle on (my hands aren’t all cramped up or hurting after using it, like they are with some toys), and is a bit different looking than your average clitoral stimulation vibrator.  It fits in really well between your labia, and can be used on the clitoris, as well as anywhere on any body; nipples, lips (on your face), various parts of the vulva, under the testicles or on the shaft of a penis, etc. Since it’s not phallic shaped, nor does it plug into the wall, many people will find this less intimidating (or their partners will) than some toys. This makes it a great toy to share with your partner(s) in addition to using it on your own.

It’s made of Elastomer, which is phthalate free, making it body friendly. However, this means it is NOT sterilizable like silicone would be, so keep this for your (and your fluid bound partner), unlike some of the other vibes that you can share. Q likes this one a lot, so you know it’s good for your average clitoral stimulation lover, and I love using it on her…muahaha!

I, as we all know, am a HUGE fanatical fan of the the Hitachi Magic Wand. This vibrator (the Layaspot) doesn’t pack nearly as much power as the Hitachi…but I like my sex toys weapons grade. If you don’t need plug-into-the-wall stimulation, or perhaps are looking for buy your very first vibrator, this could be a perfect match for you (and it comes in lots of colors).  I give it 3 stars for me, but Q definitely gives it at least 4 stars.

Sex Toy Review: Ophoria Beyond 1 Vibe

To add to my current collection of sex toys, I now have my very first Ophoria toy ever; the Beyond 1 G-Spot Vibe.

Who is Ophoria? They are a company who has been around a little over a year, who happens to make toys only made out of 100% medical grade silicone.  As far as “luxury” value, I’d put them a step below Lelo, whose rechargable body friendly toys are really challenged by none, but way above any of the main manufacturers. They make good, solid, body safe, and fairly affordable toys, including both dildos and vibes.

Where to begin? I was a little nervous, since Hey Epiphora had recently reviewed the Beyond 1, and found it lacking.  However, I, as always, was willing to try it out, regardless.

The packaging? Stunning. I know people get all bored when packaging is discussed, but let me tell you, it was beautiful. First, the shipment box of cardboard. Then the inner box, with the logo and embossed bubbles.  You could have stuck a cheap ass Cal Exotics toy in there and I would have still at least given it a look because the packaging was smoooooth. Once you open THAT, there is a black box of good quality you can use to store it, with the toy packaged in foam, and a storage bag and batteries underneath. A) Yes, it came with batteries (thank you!) and B) A nice storage bag to keep it lint free. I’m glad companies are finally listening to people’s feedback.

It also has a 1 year warranty (yay!), and 9 vibration modes. The first three are your average low, medium and high, and then it gets into the crazy patterns. I literally had the instruction booklet by my bed to help me figure them out. Are they better than the regular mode? Perhaps, but we tend to just prefer the regular three anyways.

We had a similar problem to Epiphora regarding the handle. While Q did ok if she was using it to masturbate, it made it very difficult to hold on to fuck someone.  Once lube (water based only of course) entered the picture, it was damn near impossible. Even without lube, it hurt my hands to hold it for any period of time.  Plus, the angle had to be very specific, or else it hurt, and that angle is hard to keep up when you’re fucking someone, your hands are cramping up, and you are holding onto the toy for dear life.

That said, it makes a good masturbation toy you if you like vibrating insertables. Mine is fairly quite (not whisper, but definitely not loud), and it packs a good deal of power for two AAA batteries.   If you’re looking for vibrating G-spot play by yourself, I’d suggest this (or the Gigi!). I do want to try the Beyond 3 though – it has a better handle, and is a dildo, so may be better for active fucking.

4 stars for solo play, 3 stars for partner play (out of 5).

Sex Toy Review: Mini Gallant

gallant

So we all know I likey the vibrators. I am, in fact, a vibrator fan.

However, as we also all know, I like weapons grade sex toys. Like the Hitachi, the Wahl, etc. Even most Lelo toys (while incredibly awesome) aren’t strong enough to get me to the point of no return.  99% of  battery toys have tried, and failed epically when it comes to getting me off.

Luckily, Q is not like that. Q prefers the finesse of multi-speed, battery operated toys. In fact, she even loves the good ol’ AA powered bullet. And so, she has become my new (and oh so sexy guinea pig) for testing out AA and AAA powered vibrators like the Mini Gallant (which Babeland was so kind to send me).

We were all set to test out the Gallant.  However, it is deceiving.  It LOOKS like it would take AA batteries, even once the battery compartment is open. However, it takes 2 AAA batteries. Since we’re still in the midst of unpacking, this required an epic hunt for AAA batteries before we could get the little bugger going.

I decided to have some kitchen fun, and brought some crocodile nipple clamps, and a delightful massage oil/wax candle into the kitchen with us. First, I made Q strip down, tossing the boxers and tank in a corner.  Then, I bent her over the counter, grabbing a kitchen knife from the block. Slowly, I ran it down her back, until she was covered in goosebumps. Poor thing must have been cold, so I poured hot wax down her back to try and warm her up. I’m a very nice Mistress, you see.  After rubbing it in, I had her turn around, and I put the clamps on her nipples.

Once they had gotten a bit more tender, I pulled the chain taut, and place the Gallant on it, making it vibrate both the chain and the clamps. She moaned. I liked it.  Then I teased her for another 10 minutes or so with the purple mini vibe, making her stand in front of the sink with her legs spread, touching the vibe to her lips and her clit until she couldn’t take it and we retired to the bedroom.

The next time we had sex, I was fucking her silly with the Curve (another fun toy by Fun Factory), and finally let her use a vibrator on her clit. She went for the Gallant, to give it another gallant try.  While she said it felt really good, and she enjoyed it (and holy mother of mooses, it was SOOOO quiet! I kept telling her to turn it on, but it already was.  Much quieter than some other FF toys I’ve tried in the past), it didn’t give her enough vibration to get off. And this is Q saying this, NOT me.  She went to her trusty back up Silver Bullet, and was coming here and there and everywhere in no time.

Basically, this is a great toy. It’s phthalate free, and sharable (if you sterilize it). It only takes 2 AAA batteries, so it’s not like you’re loading up dual cannons here. It’s quieter than any mouse I’ve ever seen or heard. It’s very portable (totally fits in my purse…easily), and it’s easy to use with the + and – buttons for power (and to change patterns).  However, it’s not very strong. Sooooo…it depends what you’re looking for.  If I’m personally trying to get off, I’d give it 1 star.  If I’m trying to tease the hell out of Q, 3 or 4 stars. And if you find most toys over stimulate you, than this might be right up your alley.

Oh. Side note.  It *can* be inserted in the cunt, as nothing can get lost there (do NOT put it in your butt. Period.). We tried this. It goes allllll the way into the cunt. Like, with it being all lube-y and come-y, I had to make Q laugh in order to get it to projectile back out again.  No so good for the actively fucking.
