Poczta Polska will offer customers a mobile application for smartphones

Poczta Polska signed an agreement for the implementation of a comprehensive IT solution, including a mobile application for smartphones and, for those using computers, access to a dedicated Customer Panel. Thanks to the new, multifunctional software, customers will gain the ability to conveniently and quickly manage the services offered by the Company.

The contract concluded with Poczta Polska Usługi Cyfrowe, a company belonging to the PP Capital Group, covers the design, production and implementation of a comprehensive IT solution consisting of: Mobile Application for mobile devices and Central and Customer Panels, dedicated to people who use computers.

The new software will enable the preparation of a comprehensive service for KEP parcels (courier, parcel and express shipments) from posting, through tracking, to collection in parcel machines. In addition, customers will gain the ability to quickly find post offices, boxes, and partner points, and ultimately – the implementation of e-services. All these functionalities will be available both in a convenient and handy mobile app form as well as in a desktop form.

– Digitalization of many spheres of life has accelerated dramatically, and a service company has to respond to the expectations of customers and the market better, faster, and more efficiently. This is reflected in the preparation of a mobile application and a panel to manage shipments online, which is particularly important in the era of growing eCommerce. Soon, with just a few clicks, our customers will be able to send and receive shipments, check their route, and find nearby post offices and pickup points. Modern software, which should be emphasised, will be created by Poczta Polska Group company – Poczta Polska notes Tomasz Zdzikot, President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska.

Digitalisation is the strategic direction of development of Poczta, which has been undergoing business transformation for several years. The company is constantly developing information and communication technologies, adapting the direction of changes to the preferences of consumers. Poczta Polska is consistently building and extending its digital competence. For this purpose, last year a decision was made to create its own software house, responsible for building the capacity of the whole Polish Post Capital Group to produce and maintain key IT systems and tools on its own.

The first benefits resulting from the decision to develop IT competences within the group are already visible. Signing a contract for the implementation of a comprehensive IT solution for KEP is another major investment in the digitalization of processes, which will be implemented by the PPUC company – emphasises Krzysztof Falkowski, Vice-President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska.

In October this year. Poczta Polska commissioned PPUC to develop a new IT system to manage logistics processes TMS (Transportation Management System). This modern software ensures optimization of transport and logistics processes, which translates into faster delivery of shipments to customers and savings in raw materials used.

According to the Company’s strategy for the next 3 years, Poczta Polska intends to allocate approx. PLN 1.2 billion for investments in automation and computerization, in particular related to key directions of Post’s development, which include courier deliveries.

Poczta Polska is developing its courier services to best meet customer needs. The introduced changes concern both the investments in parcel sorters, we expand the network of collection points, we modernize the fleet of cars, we change the offer of Pocztex. At the same time we are preparing IT solutions dedicated directly to the customers, because without computerization there are no modern services in the modern world. Therefore, soon consumers will gain friendly software for convenient handling of their shipments – says Andrzej Bodziony, vice-president of the management board of Poczta Polska.

It is worth reminding that apart from logistics and digital services, development of the courier offer is one of the priorities for Poczta Polska. Later this year a new version of Pocztex will be presented, which is undergoing a multi-faceted transformation. Thanks to modernization of infrastructure and optimization of processes, the quality of services provided by Poczta Polska is gradually increasing. According to the adopted assumptions, the goal until 2024. is to double the revenue of the Company’s KEP segment.
